The standardization of urinary sediment analysis can now be simpler and more accurate. It is important that
the examination of the sediment is carried out always following the same procedures in order to guarantee
the repeatability of the test, which is difficult to obtain with the traditional system currently used in many
laboratories. Furthermore, the compaction of the urinary sediment creates an overlap of epithelial cells
making it difficult to verify the presence of other cellular elements.
